Description:
Amano shrimp are one of the most popular and hardworking freshwater shrimp in the aquarium hobby. Known for their incredible algae-eating abilities, these peaceful invertebrates make the perfect addition to any community tank or planted setup.
Behavior & Temperament:
Amano shrimp are social and active scavengers. You’ll often find them grazing on biofilm, algae, and leftover food throughout the day. They’re peaceful and do best in small groups of 5 or more.

Diet: Algae, biofilm, sinking pellets, blanched vegetables (like zucchini or spinach)
Tank Mates:
Amano shrimp get along great with most peaceful fish and invertebrates. Avoid keeping them with large or aggressive species that may view them as food.

Amano shrimp are named after Takashi Amano, a world-renowned aquascaper who first popularized them for their natural algae control in planted tanks.
